March 31 - Straightpoint has appointed Indonesia based Rigspek Perkasa as a distributor of its force measurement, load monitoring and suspended weighing load cell range in Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Rigspek will keep load cell stock at its 15,000 sq m headquarters on the island of Batam, but it also has facilities in Jakarta and Balikpapan offering lifting technologies, as well as training, inspection and testing services.
Eventually, Rigspek will provide calibration and after-sales services for load monitoring products throughout Indonesia, following the completion of training on the Straightpoint range.
Commenting on developments in the country that could provide work, Alexander Silalahi, business development manager at Rigspek, said: "The new government has confirmed plans to invest USD360 billion into a series of projects over the next five years, primarily in the infrastructure and power sectors."
