European fund manager Star Capital Partnership has acquired Scotland-headquartered Windhoist Holdings, a wind turbine installation contractor, for an undisclosed amount.
Windhoist has erected over 6,000 turbines, with an installed capacity of approximately 11 GW across the globe, according to Star Capital. While the company historically focused on the onshore wind energy market, it has more recently completed the assembly of 84 offshore wind towers for the 588 MW Beatrice offshore wind farm.
Effective immediately, Tim Adams has been appointed as the managing director of the Windhoist. He comes from an engineering background and has spent his career employed in various roles in the renewable energy and maritime construction industries, said Star Capital.
