Spliethoff Group has acquired a majority stake in shortsea operator Forestwave.
The deal comes into effect on September 30, 2024. Forestwave has worked extensively with Spliethoff and its group member companies for a number of years, mainly in the transport of yachts and bulk cargoes.
“After so many years of constructive and pleasant cooperation with Forestwave, formalising this cooperation is a logical step,” said Spliethoff Group’s chief financial officer Ingmar Bras and Michael van den Heuvel, chief commercial officer.
With this expansion, the number of vessels commercially operated by the Spliethoff Group has grown passed more than 140.
