Claas Matthies, managing director at SAL Heavy Lift, is taking on additional responsibilities as the group’s chief information officer.
Matthies will lead the group’s digital strategy and will continue to be responsible for the group’s accounting and merger and acquisition activities.
SAL said that the creation of this new role will strengthen its efforts towards digitalisation. Dr. Martin Harren, ceo at SAL Heavy Lift, added: “Digitalisation of business processes is becoming an ever more competitive parameter and we see great potential in developing our digital landscape even further from today.”
Also joining the German shipping line is Soeren Bibow, who takes on the role of group chief financial officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate banking institutions, at which he oversaw shipping and maritime investments.
