Nikolaus H. Schües has been lined up to lead the Baltic and International Maritime Council (Bimco).
Bimco’s board of directors approved the nomination of Schües, ceo of Reederei F. Laeisz, to stand for election as the association’s next president designate in 2021, succeeding Sabrina Chao, chairman of Wah Kwong Shipping Holdings.
Bimco presidents serve a two-year term. Organisational continuity is ensured with the incoming president (president designate) sitting on the board for two years, before being put up for election as president.
“I am honoured to accept the nomination by the board and recognise the trust it indicates. I very much look forward to taking up the role as president designate,” said Schües.
