September 7 - Scan-Trans Holding has established Scan Project Italy Srl.

The Scan-Trans Group takes care of sales and chartering, but is also responsible for local operations, acting on-site when project and heavy lift cargoes are loaded and discharged worldwide. 

The newly formed company will manage the Scan-Trans group's fleet (presently engaging about 25 
geared MPP tweendeckers) whenever any of the vessels is in the Mediterranean Sea. 

Scan Project Italy will be operative worldwide, targeting Italian-controlled projects and spot cargoes in coordination with the Scan-Trans offices all over the world. 

Through Scan Project Italy the Scan-Trans Group will improve the service it offers to clients in the Italian market, not withstanding the current downturn in the project market as a result of the current global economic crisis.
