Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has acquired Blu Logistics Brasil in a bid to continue growing its footprint in Latin America.

Headquartered in São Paulo and employing more than 200 people across eight offices, Blu offers air and ocean freight services including Customs clearance, trucking and cabotage.

Allan Melgaard, global ceo of SGL, said Latin American growth has been a priority for the company. Gabriel Carvalho, ceo of Blu, added that the deal would allow the firm to expand its market position in Brazil while growing additional trade lanes, particularly from Europe and North America.

Brazil adds to SGL’s existing offices in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru.
