Empire Energy Partners’ offshore division has signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) framework agreement with Sarens to enhance the development of offshore wind projects in the USA.

The collaboration, which combines Empire Energy’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) capabilities with Sarens’ expertise in large-scale heavy lifting and transport, aims to create a unified solution for offshore wind developers. It also formalises the intent of both organisations to leverage their combined strengths to address the rapidly growing demand for integrated EPC solutions in the US offshore wind market.

Both companies say they aim to meet the increasing demand for domestic offshore wind projects by offering an integrated solution.

Steven Sarens, managing director of Sarens Projects USA said: “By working together, we can offer a seamless, integrated service that will streamline project execution and ensure the success of offshore wind developments in the US.”

Empire will lead as the primary EPC contractor, while Sarens will provide critical heavy lifting, transport and engineering support, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Mike Milledge, senior director of offshore wind at Empire said: “By working with Sarens, we can offer our clients a full-service solution from start to finish, positioning ourselves as leaders in the renewable energy space.”

Empire Energy Offshore selected Sarens for its involvement in the US market. Sarens has also global experience in offshore wind and has executed projects across Europe and beyond. Their portfolio in managing heavy transport and installation for large-scale offshore projects includes the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind farm, Verbrugge terminals in the Netherlands, and has delivered heavy lifting and transport solutions for large-scale offshore and floating wind projects in Taiwan and South Korea.
