Samoco, a division of Sarens, has acquired the lifting and handling activities of Gosselin Group company Heavy.
As a result of the transaction, Gosselin and Heavy hope to develop stronger partnerships for industrial moves with Samoco and Sarens. The acquisition also increases Samoco’s presence in the Belgian industrial assembly and transport market.
The Heavy lifting and handling employees will now become part of the Samoco team. The deal also includes a 60-tonne capacity Ormig crane.
Heavy will continue to focus on special transport and chartering, offering total solutions for heavy lifts and exceptional loads, it said.
In recent years, Gosselin has made some major investments in its logistics activities. The company boosted its industrial projects division through the acquisition of the 100,000 sq m Stork site at the Oosterweelsesteenweg 58 location at the port of Antwerp, as well as the integration of Heavy into the group.
