March 30 - Royal Cargo, a leading heavy lift service provider in the Philippines, has recently added two new cranes to its fleet of heavy lift equipment.
One is a 300-tonne capacity Liebherr crawler crane; the other a 150-tonne capacity Sany crawler crane. Both were among various items of heavy lift equipment that Royal Cargo deployed at the Manila South Harbour during the construction of two gantry cranes.
That project involves receiving, assembly and shifting of two new Liebherr gantry cranes, each some 55 m high and weighing 890 tonnes.
The Liebherr crawler crane has a 98 m main boom, while the Sany crawler crane has a 81 m main boom.
Royal Cargo president and chief executive officer, Michael K. Raeuber stated: "We are focusing our investments in markets where we can leverage our know-how and provide services and equipment which otherwise may not be available at the price or quality Royal Cargo can provide."
Chief operating officer, Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento adds, "Our Liebherr crane is best suited for the erection of wind towers for the wind power projects in the Philippines. This investment is our contribution to the development of our country's renewable energy, particularly wind power."
