Roll Group is enhancing its capabilities in Nigeria with a partnership with heavy transportation and lifting company Cranes “R” Us.
In February 2023, Roll Group launched its operations in Africa with the appointment of Patrick van der Meide and Harmen Tiddens, who together lead Roll Africa. “It is part of Roll Group’s strategy for Africa to team up with local players, to offer even more reliable factory to foundation solutions to clients. Combining the forces of Cranes “R” Us and Roll Group enables us to provide the highest quality equipment and safely execute engineered solutions, also in Nigeria. We are committed to this long-term partnership and look forward to working together with CRU and our clients in Nigeria,” they said.
Sunil Suchdev, ceo of Cranes “R” Us, added: “Nigeria is developing rapidly in many segments. As a leading local operator, it is great for us to team up with an international company like Roll, who have a large asset base including a fleet of ships highly suitable for Nigeria. This partnership enables us to offer more services and even better value to our clients, who can rely on our constant presence and experience in Nigeria and Roll’s equipment and expertise, high-quality engineering and a good understanding of working in Africa.”
Cranes “R” Us operates cranes ranging from 20-250 tonne lift capacity, six prime movers, and 28 axle lines of hydraulic modular trailers.
Roll Group owns and operates five semi-submersible, self-geared (2x 350t) ro-ro cargo ships, as well as three (DP2) flat deck carriers. It also owns SPMTs, jacking/skidding and gantry systems and crawler cranes. In May 2023, Roll Group appointed CMTL Logistics as its commercial agent in Tanzania.
