With the end of the Brexit transition period looming, business advisory firm BDO is holding a series of webinars – Rethinking European Business.
“Against the backdrop of a pandemic and the largest economic downturn in recent history, the government continues to negotiate our future relationship with the EU, our largest trade partner. Many businesses have already made significant operational changes to build resilience into their business models as a result of Covid-19. They will need further resilience to stand them in good stead for our EU exit. The adjustment of businesses and workers to this new structure is unlikely to be smooth and the pandemic has only increased uncertainty,” said BDO UK.
The first webinar will explore what the current negotiations and the future political relationship will mean for UK businesses trading with the EU including: the current status of negotiations and latest information; the supply chain and contract management; a corporate structure that is fit for purpose; and VAT and Customs compliance.
The webinar will take place on December 8 at 10 AM (GMT).
A second session will focus on the changes in regulations that will affect the efficient global mobility of staff.
Sterling Lexicon and BDO will jointly explore cross-border scenarios and how these could be managed effectively. The panel includes Leanne Cottrell, head of immigration at Sterling Lexicon; Kate Marking, employment tax specialist at BDO UK; and Samuel Gonzalez, employment law partner from BDO Spain.
They will discuss immigration and work permit considerations, social security and employment law.
The webinar will take place on December 15 at 10 AM (GMT).
