The organiser of the Project Cargo & Breakbulk conference and exhibition 2020 (PCB 2020) has revealed the inaugural event’s conference theme and initial speakers.
Roger Guenther, director at Port Houston, will open the PCB Future Projects Conference, the headline theme being Energy in Transition. Attendees will be able to learn about the opportunities on offer to energy providers and the supporting logistics procurement and transportation community.
Michel Letellier, president and ceo at Innergex Renewable Energy, will give the company’s view on the future energy mix, as well as projects including the Innavik hydroelectric power plant and the Foard City wind farm. Gavin Sears, Innergex’s contracts and procurement manager, will discuss LNG Canada’s future project pipeline.
Furthermore, the logistics challenges of moving transformers and gas turbines will be discussed by an international panel of experts including: Mustafa Khan, logistics and inventory specialist, Mitsubishi Electric Power Products; Andrea Zangerle, logistics manager, SPX Transformer Solutions; and John Mansfield, shipping and logistics supervisor, Virginia Transformer Corp.
The PCB conference also includes experts, economists and analysts who will give forecasts on specific growing energy sectors. Opportunities arising out of the USA’s offshore wind energy industry will be considered by: Walt Musial, manager offshore wind, National Renewable Energy Laboratory; Dr. Stephanie McClellan, the Renewables Consulting Group; and Alana Duerr, director offshore wind North America at DNV GL.
Barry Worthington, ceo at the American Energy Association, will speak on terminal developments and their importance to energy and infrastructure growth.
PCB 2020 is a new event for the project logistics supply chain and will take place from April 1-2 at the GRB Convention Center in Houston, USA.
