Hapag-Lloyd has appointed Uffe Ostergaard, former chief commercial officer at UASC, as president region North America, succeeding Wolfgang Freese.
Ostergaard, who joined Hapag-Lloyd in May 2017 following the company's merger with UASC, will succeed Freese in April 2018, following a transitional period.
Prior to his time as chief commercial officer at UASC, Ostergaard gained professional experience with Maersk, primarily in Copenhagen.
Freese, who held management positions in several locations, including Germany, Indonesia, the UK and the USA, will be retiring after almost five decades with Hapag-Lloyd.
