Offshore Heavy Transport (OHT) has appointed Stuart Thornton as business development and tendering manager as it continues to expand.
Thornton has over 13 years of management experience in the renewable energy sector. Prior to this role Thornton was UK business development manager for Fred. Olsen Windcarrier; prior to that he held positions at Fred. Olsen United and turbine supplier Global Wind Service. He also serves as an elected director of the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).
In July 2018, HLPFI reported that OHT signed a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) for a newbuild semi-submersible offshore wind farm foundation installation vessel.
The vessel is designed to take on transport and installation activities for offshore wind farm foundations. OHT said: “Thornton’s knowledge and experience in the renewable sector will further strengthen our organisation and help to build a market-leading transport and installation solution for an expanding sector.”
