Noatum Logistics has launched a division specialising in railway equipment transport, focussing on providing services to railway equipment manufacturers.

Led by José Luis García-Alzorriz, the former manager of Noatum Logistics in Bilbao, the Noatum Logistics Rail Projects division will operate in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Chile and China. The division will also utilise a network of agents worldwide.

The types of project cargoes associated with this sector require tailored transport and logistics procedures, said Noatum Logistics.

Based in Bilbao, the division will rely on over 20 years of experience of Noatum Logistics Bilbao which, during this period, has transported wagons, trams and locomotives to countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and Central and South America.

The creation of Noatum Logistics Rail Projects is part of the group’s strategy to provide specific solutions to different industrial sectors. Noatum Maritime currently has other specialiseed divisions, such as Marmedsa Oil & Gas, specialising in the oil and gas industry; and Noatum Maritime Automotive, which includes all activities connected with vehicle and ro-ro cargo operations.

Antonio Campoy, ceo of Noatum Maritime said: “This new division will allow us to consolidate the specialised transport solutions we are already offering to the railway sector, an industry with ample growth potential, as well as to extend the diversification of the group’s divisions and services.”
