February 26 - Ningxia Wang Thai Engineering Machinery has strengthened its longstanding relationship with crane manufacturer Manitowoc by acquiring a new 300-tonne lifting capacity Grove GMK600L all terrain crane (ATC).
The Chinese crane rental company praised the crane's boom versatility and its application within the wind power, chemical, industrial and general construction sectors.
The 80 m main boom can be extended using a jib to 117 m, making it the longest-reaching all terrain crane in the 300-tonne capacity class, said Ningxia Wang Thai.
The company said the crane's off-road, all-wheel independent suspension system, alongside an advanced chassis design, were other positive factors that encouraged the acquisition.
"Leveraging the capability of the GMK6300L, we can take on more projects than other companies," explained Tang Ming Wang, general manager of Ningxia Wang Thai. "In the next few years, the rapid development of urban construction, infrastructure development and other projects will lead to huge demand for lifting equipment, particularly for all-terrain cranes.
"The Grove GMK6300L has a longer main boom length than other six-axle cranes, which means that while other companies might need a bigger crane, we can manoeuvre our GMK6300L in compact construction sites more flexibly and that gives us a greater competitive advantage," he continued.
