MSC Group has entered a share purchase agreement with Bolloré for the acquisition of 100 percent of Bolloré Africa Logistics, including all the group’s shipping, logistics and terminal operations in Africa as well as its terminal operations in India, Haiti and Timor-Leste.
The purchase price is based on an enterprise value, net of minority interests, and stands at EUR5.7 billion (USD6.3 billion).
The deal follows a thorough consultation process with representatives of employees of the Bolloré Group, which was initiated towards the end of last year, as HLPFI reported here. The deal is still subject to approvals, including from the relevant competition authorities.
“The acquisition of Bolloré Africa Logistics reaffirms MSC Group’s longstanding commitment to invest in Africa and to strengthen supply chains across the continent, as well as connecting it to the rest of the world,” said the shipping line.
