American Airlines Cargo has appointed Sam Mendenhall as vice president, operations.
Mendenhall succeeds former operations leader David Vance who is retiring after 34 years at American Airlines.
Mendenhall joins the cargo team with 22 years of experience at the company, where he most recently led the organisation responsible for all crew scheduling at the American Integrated Operations Center. Prior to this, Mendenhall worked for many years as a leader in finance for the airline.
Mendenhall will begin transitioning to his role immediately and report directly to Jessica Tyler, president cargo and vice president operations innovation and delivery.
