Australia’s Marr Contracting will provide heavy lifting services for the 1915 Çanakkale bridge and highway project in Turkey using its M2480D heavy lift tower crane.
EPC contractor for the project, DLSY - a joint venture between Daelim, Limak, SK E&C and Yapi Merkezi - awarded the contract to Marr Contracting International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marr Contracting.
Marr is responsible for providing specialised crane services for the project, which will see the construction of the 4,608 m bridge. This includes the design and supply of the cranes and support ties, the installation and commissioning of the cranes, as well as the operation of the machines during the construction of the bridge towers, and the decommissioning of the units upon completion of the build.
According to Marr, it will deploy its Favelle Favco M2480D heavy lift tower crane, which features a maximum lifting capacity of 330 tonnes at a radius of 15 m, for the project.
The Marr team is expected to be on site from July 2019 for a period of 14 months.
