Mann joins the bound4blue after four years as vice president business development at shipping equipment specialist Silverstream Technologies, and over 25 years supporting and growing various maritime and energy businesses worldwide. This includes a decade at Rolls-Royce Marine, over five years at Siemens, and more than two years at MAN Energy Solutions.

He has been tasked with the facilitating the roll-out of bound4blue’s eSAIL. The fully autonomous suction sail technology, which is DNV type approved, works by dragging air across an aerodynamically optimised surface to generate propulsive force.

HLPFI reported in October 2024 that Amasus Shipping has signed a second suction sail contract with bound4blue. A 22-m unit will be retrofitted on a 90-m, 2,876 dwt vessel at Astander shipyard in Santander, Spain

bound4blue eSAILs come in three sizes (12m to 36m in height), with optional tilting systems. Relevant vessel segments include, but are not limited to, Ttankers, bulkers, ro-ro, cruises, ferries, gas carriers, and general cargo ships.
