USA-based crane manufacturer Manitowoc has opened an office in Colombia, with the aim of both supporting customers and maximising machine uptime across Latin America.
Located in Cajicá, a municipality located 9 miles (14.5 km) north of Bogotá, the facility is equipped with an inventory of crane parts and components, alongside a dedicated team of experts who will provide technical services and training across Colombia.
“With this new facility we have enhanced our customer support in Colombia,” said Carlos Casallas, regional business manager for Manitowoc in Colombia and Ecuador. “The feedback has been outstanding. Having direct access to parts and services has cut delivery times by half, leading to greater efficiency on job sites and substantial cost savings for crane owners.”
The opening of this office follows the opening of a new facility in Lima, Peru, last year. Manitowoc now has offices in Colombia, Peru, Brazil (São Paulo), Chile (Santiago), and Mexico (Monterrey).
“Delivering parts and services faster has already resulted in great ROI [return of investment] for our customers. Being geographically closer to our customers allows us to build trust and enhance their overall experience,” added Cristián Galaz, general manager for Manitowoc in Latin America.
The office’s address is Carrera 5 # 11D-221Sur (San Roque), Torre E, oficina 403, Cajicá, Cundinamarca, Colombia.
In September 2024, HLPFI reported that Manitowoc had appointed VA Techsys as its local supplier of Grove mobile cranes in Thailand.
