March 12 - Dr Thomas Lieb will leave Schenker AG and the Deutsche Bahn Group effective March 31, 2015, having resigned from his position as head of business unit DB Schenker Logistics and chairman of the management board of Schenker AG yesterday.
Until a decision about his successor is made, Dr Lutz Freytag, member of the management board of Schenker AG for finance/controlling, will take over the position as chairman of the board on an interim basis.
Lieb joined the air and ocean freight business unit at Schenker in 1993 and became a member of the board of directors of the newly established Schenker International Deutschland GmbH, Kelsterbach, in 1994.
In 2001, he was appointed to the management board of Schenker AG, where he was responsible for the global air/ocean freight activities of the group. He also had the responsibility for the operational business in the regions Asia-Pacific and the Americas, as well as, later on, for all the other management regions.
He has been the chairman of Schenker AG's management board since July 2008.
