Denmark-based Lauritzen Bulkers has acquired Canadian breakbulk and parcel shipping company, Alexander & Blake.

Alexander & Blake’s main activities are in the breakbulk and parcel service sectors, with clients and key trades in both the North and South American markets. Lauritzen Bulkers deems this acquisition as one which will add value and strong client relations to its chartering and freight services.

“The discussions we have in the past months with the Alexander & Blake team have confirmed to us their excellent competencies and how they will add value to Lauritzen Bulkers’ global shipping services from day one,” said Rasmus Francis Jensen, vice president, chartering and Lauritzen Bulkers Parcel Service.

Following the acquisition, the future brand name will be Lauritzen Bulkers Parcel Service. Lauritzen Bulkers will thus continue Alexander & Blake’s breakbulk and parcel serving offering.

“I am certain that our current and future customers will gain access to creative and competitive freight offerings,” added David Linden, founder and ceo of Alexander & Blake. “Furthermore, I see a very good fit between the Alexander & Blake values and the corporate culture, commercial mindset and customer focus of Lauritzen Bulkers.”

Current employees, operation, and customer contracts at Alexander & Blake will continue under the brand name Alexander & Blake – by Lauritzen Bulkers.
