February -8- In the USA, the heads of two companies with significant project shipping requirements have joined President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.
Apparently modelled on the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board created by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to provide an independent voice on intelligence issues, President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board will be charged with offering independent advice, though regular briefings to the President, Vice President and their economic team, as they formulate and implement plans for economic recovery.
Jim Owens, chairman and CEO of Caterpillar, and Jeffrey R. Immelt, CEO of GE are two of the 15-member advisory board.
