The company’s revenues and EBITDA are up, but group profit is down.

Hapag-Lloyd’s revenue increased from USD19.39 billion in 2023 to USD20.67 billion in 2024. EBITDA rose to USD5.03 billion in 2025, up from USD4.83 billion in 2023. Group profit dropped from USD3.19 billion in 2023 to USD2.59 billion in 2024.

“In a challenging market environment, we achieved solid results and further increased customer satisfaction,” said Rolf Habben Jansen, ceo of Hapag-Lloyd. “We have worked hard to further improve processes which will yield results in the years to come and stepped up our investments in digitalisation and training of our people.”

Terminal and infrastructure segment revenues more than doubled, from USD202 million in 2023 to USD434 million in 2024. In this sector, EBITDA more than trebled from USD50 million in 2023 to USD151 million the following year. The company saw its transport expenses hiked due to the rerouting of ships around the Cape of Good Hope.

“The economic and geopolitical environment remains fragile,” added Jansen. “In this context, we anticipate earnings in 2025 to be lower than in 2024.”
