Austria-headquartered Gebrüder Weiss has acquired German freight forwarder Ipsen Logistics.
The takeover was agreed at the end of July 2020 and has since gained approval from the relevant antitrust authorities in Germany and Austria.
Ipsen’s locations in Germany have begun operating under the Gebrüder Weiss name. The operations in Belgium, Malaysia and Poland will follow suit and be rebranded as Gebrüder Weiss at the end of 2020/start of 2021.
“We are delighted to welcome the customers and employees of Ipsen Logistics to Gebrüder Weiss. It is our aim to further develop our air and sea freight services together through which we can create added value for our customers,” said Lothar Thoma, managing director air and sea at Gebrüder Weiss.
“Our global network of locations means that we are now able to offer to Ipsen’s customers, too, a wide range of services for their global supply chains,” he added.
