February -11- Heavy lift shipping line, Dockwise has sold two type IV ships to re-align its fleet with an increasing focus on premium cargoes.
Both Dock Express 10 and 12 have been sold to an undisclosed buyer at a slight profit to Dockwise and both will be delivered to their new owner by the end of April 2009.
The sale of the two ships follows a cost-revenue analysis of their operation in low-yielding market segments. Both had completed 30 years of service which meant each required additional investment to extend their useful lives.
The buyer will operate both ships in markets where Dockwise has no presence.
