Kalmar will supply CS Wind Vietnam with two Super Gloria reachstackers, each with a lifting capacity of 100 tons (90.7 tonnes).
The machines are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2020.
CS Wind Group manufactures wind turbine sections in Canada, China, Europe, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. At its facilities in Vũng Tàu, Vietnam, the company produces approximately 900 tower sections per year.
The new machines will be used in tandem to transport tower sections weighing up to 200 tons (181.4 tonnes).
The Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers are suitable for the handling of heavy and challenging loads such as steel and other metals, wind tower components and precast concrete sections, said Kalmar.
Elvina Chua, vice president, South and Southeast Asia at Kalmar, said: “This order represents a milestone for us as these are not only the first ever Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers to be delivered to the Vietnamese market, but also among the first ones in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region overall.”
