Hamburg-headquartered Global Renewables Shipbrokers (GRS) has established a strategic partnership with COLI Schiffahrt & Transport in order to service Japan’s rapidly emerging offshore renewable energy market.
GRS is a leading consultancy and shipbroker for the offshore wind, wave and tidal energy markets. Hamburg-based COLI, meanwhile, is well versed in the multipurpose shipping and project logistics sector – both in terms of brokerage and through its own semi-liner services.
Matthias Mroß, GRS managing partner, said: “With COLI, a competent and experienced partner in the field of breakbulk and project cargo – especially between Europe and Far East – is by our side. With CPC Consolidated Pool Carriers (Asia), the COLI Group has already been successfully established in Japan since 1997.”
Mroß believes that all the wheels are in motion and Japan can now realise its offshore renewable energy ambitions. "We have monitored the offshore renewables market in Japan for a long time. Now we take the opportunity to enter this market. Building on our experience and expertise, we can ensure that mistakes will be avoided and expansion targets achieved,” he explained.
Herbert Lösing, managing director at COLI Schiffahrt, added: “We look forward to a successful collaboration with GRS. Together, we are able to guarantee the market a broad service portfolio as well as a reliable and swift implementation. All parties will benefit from the synergies created.”
