The Chinese-Polish multipurpose carrier Chipolbrok is considering a newbuilding programme as it continues to transition its fleet from smaller to large multipurpose tweendeck vessels.
While a timeline for the newbuilding programme has yet to be confirmed, the multipurpose carrier is also reviewing a new vessel design, pending approval by its executive board.
Meanwhile, Chipolbrok will expand its fleet with the long-term charter of the 33,000 dwt vessels San Marino Trader and Lisbon Trader in July and August 2018, respectively. Both multipurpose vessels feature a lifting capacity of 120 tonnes.
The vessels were previously operated by AAL as part of its W-Class fleet of multipurpose vessels.
