Lufthansa Cargo Group has appointed Carsten Hernig as the head of the Latin America and Caribbean region, effective July 1.
Hernig, who will be based in Sao Paolo (Brazil), previously served as the managing director of Jettainer – a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa that manages, positions and repairs unit load devices (ULDs) for 19 airlines.
Thomas Sonntag succeeds Hernig as managing director of Jettainer. Sonntag joined Lufthansa Cargo ten years ago as vice president ofprocurement and infrastructure.
Gunnar Löhr, previously the head of the Latin America and Caribbean region, will assume the role of head of supply management and infrastructure. Based in Frankfurt, he will be responsible for procurement and supplier management for Lufthansa’s airfreight activities.
