The European association of abnormal road transport and mobile cranes (ESTA) has appointed Iffet Türken, executive board member at Kässbohrer, as president of its section transport.
Türken succeeds André Friderici, who is stepping down from the role after more than a decade at the helm. Friderici, who is technical director of Swiss heavy transport and lifting company Friderici Spécial, will stay on the ESTA board in Turken’s previous role as vice president to assist in the transition.
Türken was elected unanimously at ESTA’s general assembly meeting in Rome on October 20. During the meeting, ESTA also appointed Rainer Sasse, ceo of Luxtrailers, as treasurer. He takes over from Jens Enggaard, ceo of Denmark’s BMS Group. Enggaard will retain his seat on the ESTA voard as vice president of section cranes.
At the same meeting, Stijn Sarens was re-elected to his position as ESTA secretary.
