Boskalis will deploy its semi-submersible heavy lift ship BOKA Vanguard to lift and transport an enormous cruise ship to a yard in Freeport, the Bahamas.
Carnival Vista, the second-largest cruise ship in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, is suffering technical issues with its main propulsion system.
The 300 m-long cruise ship will be lifted out of the water by BOKA Vanguard, which will then serve as a floating drydock at the shipyard so repairs can be made. Once complete, BOKA Vanguard will sail to an offshore location to offload Carnival Vista.
The lifting operation will take place between July 12-14.
