Luxembourg-based Cargolux has reported that 2017 was the best year in its history, with a net profit after taxes reaching USD122.3 million, compared to USD5.5 million in 2016.
The freighter airline's worldwide market share grew to 4 percent. The carrier reported a 12.3 percent increase in freight tonne kilometres (FTK) flown, while its load factor also increased to 70.1 percent for the year.
For the first time in its history, Cargolux Group exceeded one million chargeable tonnes flown, as market demand and aircraft utilisation remained high throughout 2017.
