Dutch heavy-duty trailer manufacturer Broshuis has acquired 40,000 sq m of land near its facility at Genuakade (Zuiderzeehaven) in Kampen.
The deal is in response to the enormous growth of the company, according to Pieter-Bas Broshuis. “There was a shortage of space at our current location on the Industrieweg and we started looking at expanding our site. In good consultation together with the municipality, an agreement could be reached for the land located on Genuakade, Kampen, which is very near our current location.”
Initially, the new site will be used to store finished trailers, which will free up space to expand the halls at its existing manufacturing base. “Due to the confidence of our customers, our sales are growing, especially with the increasing number of multi-axle trailers. In the future, with this expansion and our 100,000 sq m site on the Industrieweg, we can serve our civil and project customers even better,” added Pieter-Bas Broshuis.
In January 2024, Broshuis launched its joker axle for its pendulum axle semi-low loaders to overcome lower axle load limits on European routes. The company explained that due to the overdue maintenance of Europe’s infrastructure, lower axle loads are allowed on an increasing number of (inland) roads, bridges and overpasses.
