The Breakbulk Asia 2020 exhibition and conference has been cancelled. In addition, the organiser has decided that it will not run the event next year.
Hyve, the organiser of Breakbulk Asia, said that having liaised with the venue, local authorities, industry bodies and stakeholders, it decided to cancel the event that was due to take place in Shanghai on August 3-4, 2020.
“With the ongoing travel restrictions into China for the event’s international exhibitors and delegates, as well as internal restrictions such as those currently in place for Beijing-based customers, we believe that cancelling the event is sadly our only option,” Nick Davison, Hyve portfolio director, said. Furthermore, many individual companies also have their own travel bans that magnified the challenge.
Davison said that the company will not be organising an event in Shanghai during 2021 and urged Asia-based customers to book into one of Breakbulk’s other events in Europe, America and the Middle East.
