Danish transport and logistics company Blue Water Shipping has opened new facilities spanning 9,800 m² in Nuuk, Greenland.
In what is one of the company’s largest investments in its history at more than DKK100 million (USD14.6 million), Blue Water has acquired the buildings that formerly belonged to bottling company Nuuk Imeq.
“The expansion here in Nuuk will support our ambition to deliver reliable solutions from, to and within Greenland. The extra space makes it possible to receive larger volumes of goods, process and deliver them faster and store more goods on behalf of our customers,” said Blue Water Greenland’s country manager, Lars Vajse.
Blue Water has had a presence in Greenland since the 1980s and has five Greenlandic offices, with the takeover of these facilities taking place on October 1. Refurbishment and rebuilding will take place after that.
