Blue Water Shipping has opened offices in Walvis Bay, Namibia and Cape Town, South Africa.
The Danish logistics group said it is expanding its activities in Southern Africa, with an eye on supporting clients in the solar, wind, hydrogen, oil and gas, and mining sectors. “Our expansion in Africa is driven by adding value and maintaining close market reach, aligning with the needs of our clients for a local presence in Africa. We are particularly excited about the dynamic development in the region, as well as the recent oil discoveries,” said Anders Maul, director EMEA and CIS - energy, ports and projects at Blue Water.
Gerald Povey is leading the expansion and has taken the role of director Africa for energy, ports and projects at Blue Water. Povey has more than 40 years of industry experience, specialising in mining and energy projects.
Blue Water added that it expects to invest significantly in Namibia through local partnerships and further strengthen its presence in other African countries.
