Barnhart Crane and Rigging has acquired the assets and operations of two branches belonging to Crane Service, which is owned by ML Holdings, in Texas and New Mexico.

Through the acquisition, Barnhart has added a second location in Texas – with this addition in El Paso joining its Houston branch. Crane Service’s Albuquerque location will be merged with Barnhart’s existing branch there, which it gained through its acquisition of Mountain States Crane in August 2024.

These acquisitions include the two locations’ crane service, industrial machine moving, transportation and rigging services, as well as 45 employees.

“Since its founding in 1960, Crane Service has built a solid reputation in the crane, rigging, and transportation industry by prioritising safety and exceeding customers’ expectations,” said Barnhart regional director Chase Reynolds, highlighting both its fleet and skilled personnel. “The addition of these two branches allows us to further expand our services throughout the Southwest and complements our existing branches.”

ML Holdings president Dave Matz added: “Barnhart has a sterling reputation in the industry, and we had confidence our employees would thrive there.”

Isaac Holguin will be the branch manager for the El Paso site, while the Albuquerque branch will be headed up by Paul Raley.

Last month, David Webster was named president and ceo of Barnhart.
