The Netherlands-headquartered ALP Maritime Services has secured towing and positioning contracts for the Coral South floating LNG (FLNG) platform, which will enter service offshore Mozambique.
ALP will use three of its 24,000 bhp Future-class vessels to tow the platform from South Korea to offshore Mozambique. On arrival, two additional 19,000 bhp vessels will be used to keep the FLNG platform in position while mooring chains are connected.
On completion of the mooring operation, two of the five ALP vessels will stay onsite to support further maritime operations.
The contracts were awarded to ALP by TJJV – a joint venture between TechnipFMC and JGC.
