Associated British Ports (ABP) appointed Andrew Dawes as its regional director for the Humber region, effective October 1, 2024.

Dawes will take over from the departing Simon Bird and will be part of the executive team, reporting to the company’s ceo, Henrik L. Pedersen.

Dawes has nearly 30 years of experience in the global ports and terminals industry with companies such as DP World, APM Terminals and ICTSI. He brings managerial and leadership experience, as well as a portfolio which includes safety, operations and commercial responsibilities.

ABP operates four ports on the Humber estuary – Goole, Grimsby, Hull and Immingham – where it acts as the statutory harbour authority for the whole estuary.
