ABL Group co-founder and offshore energy and marine consultancy specialist Phil Lenox has joined the international design and engineering consultancy Longitude as global director of its marine operations engineering business line.
Lenox is one of the founding partners of Aqualis Offshore, the original company behind ABL Group – now Longitude’s parent company. He was previously the regional managing director for the group’s energy and marine consultancy branch in Asia Pacific until retiring in 2023.
“He [Lenox] brings invaluable knowledge and experience across marine transportation and installation (T&I) consultancy, and a distinguished reputation in the offshore energy space globally,” said Longitude ceo, Jake Anderson. “He will be instrumental to the further expansion of Longitude’s legacy service portfolio in marine operations engineering, both technically and geographically.”
Created in 2006, Longitude provides marine operations engineering, design, and analysis services – supporting offshore oil and gas, maritime, offshore wind, along with other marine renewable technologies.
Based in the UK, Lenox will lead Longitude’s global marine operations teams across more than 15 countries spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
“I am eager to apply my market experience and to work with the team to explore ways to expand the technical offering even further,” commented Lenox. “The recent introduction of Longitude’s Brazilian branch, with the acquisition of Proper Marine, offers an exciting new chapter for the team.”
Last month, HLPFI reported that ABL had launched a new entity in Namibia.
